I Drop Dead Disco, does the DJ have to be blind?
Hi Elaine! The DJ in the script is only pretending to be blind so that they get away with something. All through most of the performance they act blind and carry a white cane. It has great comedic value and opportunity. I’ll send you a script sample.
Can you please send a sample script of Drop Dead Disco and Shootout Saloon?
Hi Lily! On it’s way.
Hi Juanita,
Stage West Community Theater has performed all of your mystery scripts except for The Shootout Saloon. Could you please send the sample script. I don’t think it was completed when I requested it over a year ago. Thank you.
Hi Pamela – I’m so sorry I missed sending this to you earlier & thanks for following up. I love that you have performed all my scripts! Next up is Junkyard Jellybean’s Cafe – a Steampunk Mystery. Feel free to bug me about it if you don’t see it up next year.
I had an idea for book 2 in my suspenseful romantic comedy series, but it wouldn’t morph into a complete manuscript. I tried many unsuccessful methods, but Juanita made me dig deep, explore numerous options, and then work through the story using the “who, what, when, where, and why” approach. She emphasized the importance of knowing the chronological order of events and not forgetting the antagonist’s goals and motives, to make the story more three-dimensional. The consultation was excellent, and the hour flew by. Now, I’m confident in the story’s direction and eager to write. What about book 3? I know who will help me flesh it out, Juanita.
Does everyone in this have a character or are there actors and the guests have to guess who done it?
There are 5 or 6 actors, depending on the script and the guests do have to guess, whodunnit. But hopefully, they have picked up a few of the clues and they can deduce the killer, rather than guess!
Please send a sample of Easy Money. Thanks!
Just sent it : )
I’m looking for a script for a fundraiser for a community theater. We will have a pretty talented group of actors and I hope to have about 100 people in attendance. I was looking at easy money, but we are open to other suggestions. It should be something that is suitable for an audience of all ages. It can have some Improv, but we’re definitely able to memorize dialogue.
Hi Brenda – thank you for checking us out. All of the scripts work well for 50 – 200 people with the sweet spot being 120 – 150. Over that you want to add a couple more actors. I’ll send a sample of Easy Money and one of Dying for Chocolate your way. The scripts all have a few lines of dialogue to kick off each scene and then actors improv from there, the better to involve the audience and to add a ‘reality’ component. All shows are family friendly – which is another bonus of improv. The players’ senses of humour can follow audience preferences. Please let me know if you have any questions after looking the scripts over and if there are any other samples you’d like to see.
Hi. I have a theater group that would like to start doing murder mystery dinner shows. I would very much appreciate any sample scripts you may have.
Hey Chris – just sent samples of Drop Dead Disco and the Shootout Saloon your way. And an email.
Sorry I was asking about the DISCO Mystery
On it’s digital way!
Does the Mystery have clues, a solution scene, etc, and can I read a sample?
Thanks!
Thanks for your request! Yes our mysteries have clues, solution sheet and everything you need that can be printed out.
All of the mysteries need some simple props, which you will have to get a few simple props – like a toothbrush and stick some fake rhinestones or something flashy on it because it was rumoured to have belonged to Elvis.
Hi! I direct a high school theater troupe and we are looking at holding a Murder Mystery dinner for a fundraiser. Can I please get sample scripts for Drop Dead Disco, Shootout Saloon, and Easy Money?

On their way! Thanks for your interest in my scripts.
May I please have a sample package for “Easy Money”. We are raising money for our church youth and I think this might work. Thank you, Rickie Luke
Thank you for your interest in my scripts! A lot of church groups and high schools as well as other community organizations use Easy Money as a fundraiser and do quite well with it.
Please let me know if you have any questions after you’ve looked it over.
May I please get a perusal of Dying for Chocolate? I need a murder mystery for an event in 3 weeks. I need it to be 60+ minutes? I assume since these rely a lot on improv that it could be lengthened or shortened. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you!
Thank you for your interest in my scripts. I think you’ll find Dying for Chocolate fits your needs. Because it is an improv script there isn’t a ton of memorizing lines involved.
The important thing is that certain information gets out during each scene and the actors can have ‘cheat sheets’ in their pockets to look at before heading into them.
You’ll see how it rolls when you look at the scripts. So yes improv is a great way to extend the time and also chatting up the audience on microphone. Things like: “Would you give up chocolate for carob?” “What secret ingredient do you use in your cooking?” and like that.
The other thing is that there are some suggested songs, which I usually recommend only doing a minute of so to keep the action going and audience attention fades during the musical interlude. These scripts are very flexible tho so even though I still suggest a break and moving to the next scene, an actor could decide they want to finish their song and pick it up after the interlude or maybe they want to do a duet and could ‘audition’ people from the audience. The script itself usually runs about 45 minutes without any breaks but there is usually cocktails and a meal involved so a typical event from start to finish is about 2 hours.
Hi hoping to read a perusal of gin joint, dying for chocolate, or the shoot out.
Hi Terence – I’ve just sent you samples for all three. Please let me know if you have any questions : )
I would love a sample of the Dying for chocolate script. We are looking for a project in the spring.
Absolutely. Let me know if you have any questions.
I’d like to look at Easy Money also. Do you have any that are female heavy. It’s sometimes difficult to find guys to do this. Anything would be helpful.
Thank you
Absolutely! Sometimes it’s easier with the improv kind of scripts, such as I sell here, because the time commitment is way less than scripts that need memorizing. And you can have a cheat sheet in your pocket so … as long as you like people and you like having fun, it’s good to go! Easy Money sample headed your way.
Sample please
