The Mystery
The world famous ‘Bottle of The Midnight Genie’, complete with the wish-fulfilling Midnight Genie inside, has arrived in town. It’s that special time of year when the magic spirit can be summoned from his bottle and, if successfully summoned, he must give the summoner three wishes. All one has to do is dance to the rhythm of the genie’s mood and the genie will appear.
Four travellers from the Midnight Genie’s home land of Haberdashery have come, at great expense, to dance before the infamous bottle in hopes of procuring three wishes. And of course audience members are encouraged to try their luck as well.
The Sultan of Haberdashery is one of the most powerful, most evil men in the entire nation. He also owns the much sought after ‘Alice the-drug-sniffing camel. Two years ago, the Sultan managed to boogie woogie the genie out of his bottle and got three wishes granted. He is back to try his luck again . . . and to finish some unfinished business.
The Sheikh of Shyster is the owner of a string of carpet factories that have been shut down due to flea infestations. He has turned to secret pursuits to increase his fortune. Unfortunately, the evil Sultan has discovered his secret and is blackmailing him. Shyster refuses to pay up.
Nadia of the Night never smiles. She has been broken hearted ever since someone she was very close to mysteriously disappeared. She will do anything to entice the genie out of the bottle and get her wish to see her missing companion again, granted. Anything. Including eliminate the main competition, The Sultan of Haberdashery.
The Sheikh of Shazam use to have in his possession the Grimoire of the Midnight Genie. He was studying it to become the most powerful black magician in the kingdom. The Sultan stole the book out from under his nose. Shazam is determined to recapture the book. Whatever it takes.
Samira of the Sunset Previously known for her gentle ways and quiet demur, Samira suffered a curse at the hands of the Sultan and is now afflicted with an embarrassing trait. Before she took refuge in the shadows now she draws attention to herself like the sun. Samira wants things to return to the way they were. No matter what the cost.
